Providing both in person lessons in Severna Park, MD and virtual lessons; our expert instructors provide top-notch instruction in voice, piano, guitar, bass, and brass instruments. Taught by renowned performers with a wealth of musical knowledge, we are committed to nurturing talent and fostering a love for music in all our students. Serving all levels and all styles. Beginners to professionals, contemporary to classical, and everything in between.

Meet the Instructors

Ian and Trey became close friends while studying music at Boise State University. After graduating, they both moved with their wives and families to the east coast for grad school and performing opportunities in the DMV.

Voice, Acting and Diction, Intro to Piano

Ian Kelly

After over a decade as a professional singer, performing in over 30 different countries and a decade of vocal coaching all levels, Ian settled down in the Mid-Atlantic region. Ian Kelly began his professional career as a musician directly out of high school. He performed on Celebrity Cruise Lines for two years where he had the opportunity to travel the world as a featured entertainer. After a number of years performing musical theatre, he changed genres and began studying opera with Doctor Laura Rushing-Raynes. Ian earned his Bachelor's of Music from Boise State University where he was regularly featured not only by BSU, but Opera Idaho as well. Upon graduating, Ian won a coveted spot with the US Army Chorus, performing regularly for the world's most influential political figures. Including President Joe Biden, VP Kamala Harris, and other senior leaders. Ian has performed all over the world. His stage credits include Roger in RENT, Juan Peron in Evita, Frankie Valli in Jersey Boys, Don Ottavio in Don Giovanni, Tamino in The Magic Flute, and many other leading roles. He has been honored to perform at a number of national ACDA and JEN conferences, and continues to take an interest in many styles of singing. Outside of the US Army Chorus, Ian is renowned for his work in vocal jazz and barbershop. He has sung lead tenor for some of the world's best vocal groups. Some include "Celebration Vocal Jazz", "Parkside Harmony", and "The Kelly Brothers" quartet. He regularly travels to adjudicate, coach, and provide clinics to ensembles across the country.

Trey Pope

A graduate of Boise State University, and current masters student at the University of Maryland. Trey teaches many different instruments including beginner to advanced lessons for Guitar, Bass, and Brass instruments with emphasis on the Trombone, Trumpet, and Tuba. Trey also has a passion for Musical Theatre. He conducts pit orchestras for MT in the DMV area. Through that, he developed a love of teaching conducting and piano as well.

What to Expect

Lessons:

Lessons are divided into three parts.

Review: Discuss how the week went, the students personal work, and what they worked on the lesson prior.

Warmup/Technique: Prepare your instrument for the workout of a lesson. Learning the technical skills to apply to the student’s repertoire

Repertoire: Run through their favorite music, apply the technical foundations to cultivate a confident and authentic performance.

Performances:

As the studio continues to grow, optional semiannual recitals will be available. For a small fee to cover venue costs and accompanist (if needed) for the performance and the lesson directly prior.

Policies:

Learning Materials: All students will be provided with learning materials during their first lesson. However, all students will need to bring their own instrument (except piano).

Cancellation Policy: We understand life happens. Lessons maybe rescheduled up to 24 hours prior. For same day cancellations and no shows, makeup lessons will not be offered and payment will be forfeit.

Lessons w/ Minors: Out of respect of both children and teachers, we request an adult be present for all lessons taught to students under 18.

Payment: Payment is expected promptly following each lesson, or after the first lesson of a four lesson pack. Payment may be made via Venmo, PayPal, ApplePay, Cash or Check.

Lesson Pricing

1 Hour Lessons:

Pay per lesson - $75
4 Lessons - $275 ($25 savings)

1 hour lessons are meant for those seeking the most out of their experience. Best for teenagers and adults. Good for all levels, but recommended for intermediate to advanced students.

45 Minute Lessons:

Pay per lesson - $60

4 Lessons - $225 ($15 savings)

45 minute lessons are meant for those looking to gain a greater understanding of their instrument. Suitable for all ages and level of student. A great way to balance time with growth potential.

30 Minutes Lessons:

Pay per lesson - $45

4 Lessons - $165 ($15 savings)

30 minute lessons are for those learning the basics. Recommended for children and those who are looking to begin their journey. A great way to test the waters on music instruction.

* A one time registration fee of $40 will be due upon scheduling the first lesson. This covers learning materials for future lessons.

* Lessons may be scheduled weekly, or biweekly.
